Fund proper security measures for Muswell Hill playing fields
Year after year our playing fields are closed off to local residents due to illegal traveller incursions. Sign the petition calling for the council to fund effective security measures to keep our green spaces protected all year round.

Following the trespass last summer (2024), Fortis Green Councillor Dawn Barnes visited the site with residents and council officers to look at how to better secure the playing fields. Spending on proper security would save the council money in the long-run - as we wouldn't have to spend on cleaning up the fields after the travellers have been evicted.
Regrettably, although there are some measures in place, Haringey's Labour-run council chose not to invest in the necessary security measures last year, and the incursions have continued. We need proper security to be put in place going forward.
Travellers have two sites in Haringey where they can legally set up camp, in Clyde Road and Wallman Place. Muswell Hill playing fields have never been deemed suitable for a traveller site, and these annual incursions are not fair on residents, or other local people who use the green space.
Install proper security measures for Muswell Hill playing fields
We the undersigned call for Haringey Council to fund effective security barriers for the Muswell Hill playing fields.
