Introduce local Bank Hubs in Haringey

Closures of our high street banks in areas like Crouch End and Muswell Hill - Barclays, Lloyds and Halifax - are a bitter blow, with routine announcements of closures across north London.

Although it is tempting to campaign against every single closure, the reality of the changing high street since Covid means this is unrealistic. Instead, the Lib Dems are looking forward to a different solution which has already proved popular across the country: the new Bank Hub.

Organisations like Cash Access UK have developed programmes to establish bank hubs in local communities. In Haringey's town centres like Crouch End and Muswell Hill we are calling for a specific building hosting all the major banks and building societies together, which would operate 5 days a week.

Introduce a local Bank Hub in Haringey

We the undersigned call for the introduction of a local bank hub.
