Introduce a local Bank Hub in Muswell Hill

Closures of our banks here in Muswell Hill - Barclays, Lloyds and Halifax - are a bitter blow and HSBC has just announced a tranche of closures across north London.

Although it is tempting to campaign against every single closure, the reality of the changing high street since covid means this is unrealistic. Instead, the Lib Dems are looking forward to a different solution, which has already proved popular across the country: the new Bank Hub.

Organisations like Cash Access UK have developed programmes to establish bank hubs in local communities. In Muswell Hill we should have a specific building hosting all the major banks and building societies together which operate 5 days a week.

Introduce a local Bank Hub in Haringey

We the undersigned call for the introduction of a local bank hub.
