Haringey has most fly-tipping in the UK
Haringey has the most fly-tipping in the whole of the UK according to a Freedom of Information request by the Press Association.
Cllr Gail Engert, Haringey Lib Dem Leader of the Opposition, comments:
"The news that Labour-run Haringey is the worst place in the country for fly-tipping is disappointing but not surprising.
"In their manifesto for the local elections Labour claimed Haringey had some of the cleanest streets in London! However, local Liberal Democrat councillors and campaigners have been complaining about fly-tipping on behalf of residents for years. These new figures show that there is clearly a massive fly-tipping problem in the borough.
"The Lib Dems have repeatedly called on the Labour council to take action and tackle the issue but clearly nowhere near enough is being done."
